Our Trip on the Map

In the maps below you’ll find the sum total of our travels since 2010 as illustrated by red pushpins. As we make our way around the world, we’ll update and add to these maps to chronicle our progress.

Each pushpin is linked to the blog posts we’ve written for that particular destination. We haven’t written about every single stop, so not all pushpins have links. A few places will never have posts, but most are just works in progress. Things to look forward to.

I love maps, so this looks great to me. Having the links will be great to for others that are planning on visiting the same locations. Did you know you can change the pushpins to other symbols? Even symbols you create yourself. So, for instance you could have a 2011 pin and a 2012 pin next year.

    Anyway, I love the map.

Thanks. That was my intent, for folks to be able to use our writing in making their own travel plans. Hopefully this will help in that regard.

Impressive. Congratulations. I happy for you, the you both did this now. There’s so much too see. With a bit of good luck my hope is to fly the Grand Canyon next year in a Bell 47 [MASH] helicopter with a friend. Lots of luck to you both in the future.

I’m thoroughly enjoying flicking through your blog.
Shall be reading a bit more later today when I get the chance. :]
I was wondering though… how on earth did you get the map above?
I’d very much love to do one for my own blog.
    Ryan.

Yes indeed. There are many, many, many places we need to get to. In our RV travels we’re moving methodically from the East Coast, where we started, out West. While a lot of folks would have set out immediately to the “good stuff” we’re pretty happy we didn’t skip the East.

We also know that as we make our way further west, we’ll get comments saying “My goodness, we need to get you folks to Europe or Asia or Africa or . . . “, which of course will be true, too. But we’re in no hurry. We’ll get there. Stick with us and you’ll see it all eventually.

We met a couple who’ve been riding around the country with a motorcycle and a side car. They even had their dog carrier strapped to the back. They’ve been at it for 5 years, sleeping mostly in tents but the occasional motel.

As far as RV photos, we haven’t posted many, but here’s some of our rig – inside and out: https://everywhereonce.com/2010/02/28/its-here/

I really, really recommend TODOS SANTOS in Guatemala. I spent one year travelling in South and Central America and that was one of my favourite places. Also Baracoa in Cuba. Come to Australia!

Thanks for the recommendations. Unfortunately we missed Todos Santos on our swing through Guatemala and will continue to miss Cuba as long as our government makes it illegal for us to visit there. But Australia is high on our to-do list and we hope to get there soon.

This is really great! I’d love to pick your brain on the practicalities of traveling for a living. I’m almost there, but not yet… Best of luck and perhaps we’ll have a chat in between travels!

Love the map! If you ever get back to the east coast, you missed New Hampshire! We could get together. NH has a lot to offer!

I’m enjoying your blog so far! Obviously, there are so many beautiful places in America but the most beautiful ones are the most untouched and unknown places. I wish I can visit too, but it’s quite difficult to get a bloody visa. Huhuhu.

Anyway, any plans coming to my beloved continent Asia? We have so much to offer as well! 🙂 Lastly, how did you embed the map thing? I wanna do the same thing if you don’t mind. Thanks in advance.

Great use of Google Maps, look into the touring feature available on Google Earth too, they had a free online class on it recently, very slick for this sort of thing
