Thank you. When we saw this guy he was making such a ruckus trying to get some female attention. It was pretty funny to watch. Quite a difference between the sulking animal we saw in real-time and the majestic animal depicted in the still.
What a magnificent animal – great photo!
I am following your adventures with great interest… DH and I are thinking that would be a great way to spend 5 months of the year in the US when the weather here in the UK is so bad he can’t walk without support (uses a wheelchair mainly), getting to know the States for real! =)
Thanks for the inspiration!
We’ve found RVing to be an ideal way to explore the U.S. There is so much territory to cover, some of it quite remote. I don’t think you can do it justice without some camping.
Our National Parks are really national treasures. They’re nice to visit, but we found staying in the parks to be so much more rewarding. There is nothing quite like having a herd of bison wander through your campground, like in this older post: https://everywhereonce.com/2011/10/10/teddy-roosevelt-bison/ Or watching a randy elk get ignored by an entire herd of females. Viewing nature up close is pretty spectacular.
Beautiful photo!
I’m nominating you for the Diverse Blogger Award. You can see more about it here.

Love the photo, pity the elk didn’t move his head into the sun.

He’s stunning, especially with that backdrop. The females were just playing hard to get, I’m sure.
