Hawaii does have some pretty awesome trees. The Monkeypod Trees might be my favorite. If I’m not mistaken the ones in Ala Moana Park are big old Banyan Trees which are really cool too.

The photo links me to a fairy tale 🙂
Tree tunnel aside the hills/mountains, together with light-rain in the sun and rainbow is one of the most pleasant things i’ve felt when staying inside the car.

    Hi Brian & Shannon,

This photo, with the blend of nature and road brings to mind the balance of nature and man. With the fires raging at Yosemite, there would be difficult decisions to be made regarding the allocation of resources, both man and machine. What is the right balance, after protecting life, should authorities protect property, important to individuals, or the park, significant to a nation ? (and many of us elsewhere) In times gone by such a fire would have burnt to its natural conclusion. Perhaps we should allow the same. Although, as we will be spending four days at Yosemite in early October, self interest is swaying my wish to see it preserved 🙂

    Cheers,

    Jason

We’re making tracks for Yosemite later this year as well. Fingers crossed that they get this one under control for the sake of everyone and everything in its path.

Thanks for letting me camp out in your blog for a little while today. I had a great time and tried to leave my campsite as good as when I arrived. I’ll be back!
