These are just a few of the numerous waterfalls that grace Hawaii’s Big Island. We found these particular cascades just a short distance from the city of Hilo near Mauna Kea.
Aptly named Rainbow Falls throws off predictable rainbows nearly every morning the sun shines. Go to Wailuku River State Park around 10:00 a.m. to see the colorful display.
This is just one of the cascades we found randomly along the roadside. There were too many others to show here. And besides, we don’t want to give away all the fun. You really need to get to Hawaii and see them for yourself.

WOW! Rainbow falls WITH the rainbow! We stayed on the other side of the island, and the day we were near Hilo, we got there in the afternoon–so, no rainbow. Great to see that it’s aptly named.

Timing is everything. Sorry no rainbows for you but at least that gives you another excuse to get back to Hawaii. 😮
