One sure way to break the travel budget is with lots of mansion tours. The Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC, is fantastic, but as one of my readers correctly pointed out ‘at the price they charge it’s no wonder.’ Entrance fees for Biltmore can run as much as $64 per person. The Breakers in Newport will set you back almost $20, and the James Hill House in St. Paul, Minnesota, runs eight bucks. French Quarter RV Resort

We don’t comment much on the campgrounds we visit because we’re really not on the road for camping. For us, the RV is just a place to stay when we’re not off exploring great destinations. In that regard, we’re no more ‘RVers’ than other travelers are ‘Hotelers.’ In each case, where you sleep at night is incidental to the reason you’re there. It is a means to an end. I never understood some people’s aversion to trying new food. The way I see it, everything I now enjoy I had to try for the first time at some point. If there were no first times, there’d be no enjoyment – oh, and I’d have starved to death long ago, too.
